Gateway Polytech Aviators

Branding an elementary school with an identity inspired by local aeronautical history and extended learning beyond the classroom.

Tell Me More

Located in the East Valley, this new school in Queen Creek initially adopted a brand focused on the inspired heritage of aviation history in the region. Having successfully teamed with students to develop the logo, funding was provided to expand the project into an environmental graphics package. Once completed, the double-height atrium included a series of noise dampening ceiling tiles printed with a tessellation of flight patterns derived from actual flight paths. In addition, replicas of historical planes were suspended from the tiles along a timeline, illustrating aeronautical history as students entered and exited the space. The project brought together the best of design in 2 and 3-dimensional formats for an immersive experience.
